PERTHSHIRE JUNIOR AND YOUTH PROGRAMMES

Perthshire Hockey operate a thriving youth development programme that participates in the Midlands Youth Development Programme and Scottish Hockey’s Brave development Programme.

Our junior and youth programmes take in both indoor and outdoor hockey and are suitable for boys and girls. The junior programme is suitable for children from around the age of 5 and runs to 14 years old. The youth programme is for children aged 14 to 18 and, where considered appropriate by the coaches, these players are encouraged to play in the senior Ladies and Men’s teams.

Our junior and youth programmes have been very successful in the past, and regularly provides players into the Midland District Pathway, Brave Academy and Scottish National Emerging and Aspiring teams.

Our Junior and Youth Coaching Team

The junior and Youth coaching team is made up of seniors, who are playing in adult teams assisted by players from the ladies and men’s teams, older members of the junior section and some parents. The coaches are experienced in hockey skills, managing the club and controlling the children.

Lead Coaches

Luke Cranney

Luke is a former internationalist who leads the U14 mixed group and U16/U18 girls. He also assists with the senior ladies providing continuity for the players as they progress through the age groups.

Kerr Thomson

Kerr has had an impressive playing career with Grove Menzieshill and Perthshire and coaches the U16/U18 boys. He is also an assistant coach with the Northern Devils Brave Academy.
